  • Drink a cup of warm lemon water upon rising, and make sure to drink plenty of water during the day. You should also drink a glass of water with every meal.

  • Fruit is healthy, but you should eat only one serving per day, and that should be before noon. The best fruits include strawberries, blueberries, cranberries or other fruits in the berry family.

  • Eat only low fat dairy that includes cottage cheese (no solid cheese), skim milk and plain yogurt.
  • Keep a food diary and update it daily to help you stay on track.
  • Never weigh yourself, but determine your progress by measuring inches lost and your clothing size.
